from The Boston Foundation

February 18, 2025 – Revere, MA – Women Encouraging Empowerment (WEE) is proud to announce that we have been awarded a $50,000 general operating grant from The Boston Foundation. This funding will strengthen our ability to provide education, leadership development, advocacy, and essential services to low income  immigrant families in Revere and surrounding communities.

“This grant will allow us to expand our programs, reach more community members, and continue empowering immigrant women and families with the tools and resources they need to thrive,” said Olga Tacure, Executive Director of WEE. “We are deeply grateful to The Boston Foundation for their support and commitment to advancing equity and opportunity.” This is the part TBF sent and wants to be included in the newsletter or whatever post we do related to the funds received.

"Women Encouraging Empowerment has made its mark as a critical provider of opportunities and emergency resources for women and families in Revere," said Orlando Watkins, Vice President and Chief Programs Officer at the Boston Foundation. "By providing general operating support through this Safety Net Grant, we seek to help WEE to nimbly address the critical needs of their community through these unpredictable times."

About The Boston Foundation

The Boston Foundation is one of the nation’s first and most impactful community foundations. Partnering with community members, donors, the public sector, businesses, and nonprofits, the Foundation exists to close the gaps caused by our city’s greatest disparities, advance economic justice, and help build a better Boston. TBF collects data, commissions research, shares knowledge, develops dynamic programs, fuels new ideas, and funds change.

Their work informs public policy, catalyzes conversations, and advocates not only for change but also for repairing the historical harms of inequity. Ultimately, they aim to support, contribute to, and create well-being and opportunity within communities. TBF is also one of New England’s largest grantmakers, supporting nonprofits in Greater Boston through its endowment and working closely with donors to support nonprofits locally, nationally, and internationally.
